World Direction
The story of the season was the big crashed ship and we wanted to tie the back half of the season by making the town takeover a response to that. We showed the clean up effort and the contaminated water supply and now we had a reason for Caustic to set up shop over what was once Water Treatment. With false promises of cleaning up the water, this location needed to feel as sinister as his true motives.
Finding visual cues in Caustic's character design and translating that into architectural details was a fun exercise and balancing the moody lighting with gameplay visibility was always a challenge, but the end result was a large, imposing town takeover that the team knocked out of the park. Oh and those sickly vats with the floating prowlers? Pure Caustic.
